POSITION:                           IT Manager

REPORTS TO:                      Finance Director

SUPERVISION given to: IT Supervisor, System Administrators, System Support & Helpdesk personnel

Liaison/Collaborates:   Regional IT, Hardware/Telecom/Software vendors

DEPARTMENT:                  Information Technology

Summary:                           Responsible for planning, organizing and execution of IT and telecoms functions for the company. Is required to work closely with the Regional IT team to ensure corporate IT standards/guidelines are enforced.

Nature & Scope:

Manages activities of workers engaged in I.T. operations. Ensures policies and procedures for carrying out I.T. operations are followed, highlights and works to close discrepancies.  Manages and support I.T. staff, discuss progress of work, resolve IT problems, and ensure that agreed service level agreement for the department are met. Meets with users to determine quality of service and identify needs and assists in developing I.T. strategic plan for the organization. Develops budget and monitors expenditures .

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT department.
• Assist Regional IT and the local business on regional and corporate IT initiatives and projects.
• Assist senior management in developing  and then executing  short and long term IT goals and strategies
• Ensure  IT  best practices,  policies and directives  received from  Regional IT are executed  in a timely manner
• Assist in the preparation and adherence of the IT budget, monitor expenditure, analyses and reports on variances and implements approved corrective action.
• Ensure IT  Audit  observations raised are followed up to a satisfactory conclusion
• Provide day-to-day supervision, performance management, development and delegation of work assignments for all country IT personnel
• Maintain the integrity and continual operation of the IT network including the  wireless networks
• Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical operations.
• Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment in line with regional standards.
• Ensure familiarity with all aspects of the IT operations: hands on approach, including undertaking personally on a periodically basis, IT system operations: End of Day process, systems upgrades etc.

• Implement  review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
• Ensures technology documents/certificates, product registrations, maintenance agreements, service contracts, are maintained in a constant state of operability.
• Champion and promote the utilization of technology in business operations
• Performs other related duties as required
• Ensure compliance with licensing agreements
• Process management review to drive for greater automation and increased efficiency

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge with the implementation of hardware and software systems, various server and computing operating systems, networking, databases, and operational requirements for ERP systems
• Solid  and current understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
• Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, Microsoft software including MS SQL, MS Exchange Office and outsourced systems.
• Excellent understanding and use of project management principles
• Excellent  verbal and written communications
• Proven experience in planning, organization, and development
• In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues
• Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles
• Ability to analyze problems and develop systematic approach to resolve them
• Prior experience with web applications, client server, virtualized servers, cloud and open sourced based technologies
• Ability to perform critical tasks carefully without error
• Ability to lead a project group or team

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION:

 Required Education and/or Experience:   Degree, plus minimum 10 years’ experience managing and/or directing technological operations.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:  A master’s degree and ITIL certification is desirable.  Ability to converse in Latin American Spanish.

Salary is commensurate with candidate’s qualifications.
