Responsibilites & Duties:
Reconcile volume sold against ERP prior filing excise tax declarations to Custom. Based on volume sold the Company collects taxes from customers to finally declare to Tax Authorities.
Liaise with Custom importation and exportation transactions timely in order to avoid delays in sales.
Prepare monthly tax payments such as VAT, Business Tax and withholdings. Prepare annual tax return
Support independent external audits; provide all necessary information for compliance on deadlines. Work closely with independent auditors during and preparing schedules for the annual audit.
Perform tax account analysis on a monthly basis.
Record journal entries related to taxes
Back up of Account Payable Accountant.
Prepare necessary documentation to obtain USD permits in Belize Central Bank to make payments to foreign vendors. In addition, to prepare document to get permit for profit remittances.
Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 4-5 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial business, Oil industry experience is preferred. Familiarity with Asycuda and Navision is a plus.
Skills:
- Accounting Knowledge.
- Knowledge of applicable local laws, codes and regulations.
- Ability to compile, analyze data and prepare complex financial reports and statements.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English. Speak Spanish will be a plus.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Competencies:
Ability to prioritize and schedule work; meet multiple deadlines and remain calm in stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in a high stress environment. Good organizational skills.
Salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.
